Report: Jaguars' Etienne out indefinitely with foot sprain
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Travis Etienne is out indefinitely after suffering a mid-foot sprain during Monday's preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Etienne, who was on crutches postgame, suffered a Lisfranc injury and will undergo more tests Tuesday after his X-rays came back negative, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 22-year-old left in the first quarter after notching one reception and one carry for 4 total yards.
The 2021 first-round pick figured to be a key piece in Jacksonville's offense this season alongside longtime Clemson teammate and first overall pick Trevor Lawrence. James Robinson and Carlos Hyde will likely comprise the Jaguars' backfield in Etienne's absence.
Etienne posted 4,952 yards rushing and 1,155 reception yards over four years with Clemson.
