Colts' Nelson to miss 1st career game due to high ankle sprain
Indianapolis Colts guard Quenton Nelson will miss his first career game Sunday due to a high ankle sprain suffered in Week 3, head coach Frank Reich said Friday, according to Kevin Bowen of The Morning Show 1075.
The All-Pro put together an impressive ironman streak for the Colts before the injury, starting 51 straight games since being picked in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Reich is optimistic Nelson's recovery won't be a lengthy one, noting it's possible he returns next week, according to Bowen. Nelson was carted to the locker room after suffering the injury against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.
Indianapolis' offensive line will also be without right tackle Braden Smith for Sunday's contest against the Miami Dolphins. Smith's absence will mark his third consecutive missed game due to a foot injury.
The 0-3 Colts are still attempting to get their first win of the season.
