Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is trending toward playing "in some capacity" against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.

Mixon ended the week as questionable to play after failing to practice all week due to an ankle sprain. However, he was put through a workout Saturday morning to test his injured ankle.

Head coach Zac Taylor classified the running back's injury as day-to-day earlier this week. Mixon suffered the injury in Week 4, exiting the Bengals' 24-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 25-year-old is currently third in the NFL in rushing with 353 yards.
