Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook won't play in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, the club announced.
Cook, who's been bothered by an ankle injury he suffered in Week 2, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday before being limited Friday.
The star running back missed Week 3 due to the ailment before returning last Sunday. However, he only mustered 34 rushing yards on nine carries in a loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Alexander Mattison will likely get the bulk of the workload against the Lions. He rushed for 112 yards in Cook's absence during Week 3.
