Ravens' streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games ends in MNF win
The Baltimore Ravens' streak of consecutive games with at least 100 rushing yards ended at 43.
Baltimore entered its Week 5 contest tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most 100-yard rushing games in a row, but the Ravens failed to set a new record after posting only 86 yards on the ground against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson's first NFL start kicked off the streak on Nov. 18, 2018. Jackson has helped turn Baltimore's rushing attack into a juggernaut, with the unit averaging 199.2 rushing yards per game since.
The Ravens barely kept the streak alive in last week's win against the Denver Broncos. Leading 23-7 with only three seconds left in the game, Baltimore had quarterback Lamar Jackson run the ball instead of taking a knee to keep the team's 100-yard streak going.
The call didn't sit well with Denver, and Broncos head coach Vic Fangio later said the Ravens' decision to chase the record in garbage time was "bullshit."
Baltimore led the NFL in rushing attempts and yards on the ground in each of the last two seasons. The team entered Week 5 ranked 15th and fifth in those categories, respectively, in 2021.
The Ravens overcame a 19-point third-quarter deficit Monday to force overtime and beat the Colts, with a sensational performance from Jackson leading the way to the team's fourth straight win.
