Jets' Wilson to have MRI on knee, reportedly likely to miss time
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson will undergo an MRI on his knee Monday after leaving Sunday's 54-13 loss to the New England Patriots, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said postgame, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.
"Initially, we feel good," Saleh said. "But you never know."
Wilson said he injured his PCL and explained postgame that he heard a "pop" in his knee and the joint feels "loose." The rookie passer is likely to miss time, though the MRI will determine how long he will be sidelined, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Wilson was hurt in the second quarter and didn't return. He completed 6 of 10 passes for 51 yards before going down.
Mike White took over at quarterback for the Jets and tossed his first career touchdown to Corey Davis on his first drive.
Wilson, the second overall pick in this year's draft, took two big hits on consecutive plays before exiting the contest.
White, who had never logged an official NFL snap before Sunday, finished the afternoon with 202 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions. He completed 20 of his 32 pass attempts.
The loss dropped New York to 1-5 this season. New England, meanwhile, is 3-4.
