Report: Odell excused from 2nd straight practice
The Cleveland Browns are excusing wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, a source told Mike Garofolo of NFL Network.
Beckham also didn't practice Wednesday, one day after his father shared a video of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield's mistakes on the field. The post helped fuel trade speculation involving Beckham before the deadline, though Cleveland didn't move the three-time Pro Bowler.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that general manager Andrew Berry is meeting with Beckham's representatives to discuss the receiver's future with the team.
Mayfield said Wednesday he was caught off-guard by the drama, adding that he hasn't talked to Beckham about the situation.
Beckham made his season debut in Week 3 and has since racked up only 17 receptions on 34 targets for 232 yards with no touchdowns.
