New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh announced Friday that starting safety Marcus Maye will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles suffered during Thursday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, according to Dennis Waszak Jr. of AP Sports.
His year concludes with 46 tackles, one sack, and zero interceptions over six games.
Maye has been a consistent contributor in the Jets' secondary since being drafted in the second round in 2017. He's compiled six interceptions and four forced fumbles over five seasons.
The 28-year-old was brought back on the franchise tag earlier this year and is set to become a free agent after the campaign.
