Report: Raiders among teams showing interest in DeSean Jackson
The Las Vegas Raiders are one of seven teams interested in free-agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Raiders officials had a zoom call with the speedy wideout on Saturday, according to Bally Sports' Michael Silver.
Jackson could sign with Las Vegas as early as Monday, but the parties haven't decided anything yet, Silver adds. The veteran also has a few more zoom meetings and calls set up with other clubs, Garafolo notes.
No franchise claimed the 34-year-old off waivers following his release from the Los Angeles Rams. Both sides agreed to search for a trade before the Nov. 2 deadline due to Jackson's lack of fit with the Rams, but the team couldn't find a deal, leading the two sides to part ways.
The Raiders have a clear need for a vertical threat after releasing Henry Ruggs III.
Jackson has caught eight passes for 221 yards this season, but 120 of those yards came in one game. At his peak, the former second-round pick was one of the game's most dangerous deep threats. Jackson's led the NFL in yards per catch on four occasions (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018).
