Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey and quarterback Sam Darnold are active for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

McCaffrey hasn't played since Week 3 due to a hamstring injury. The star rusher amassed only 201 rushing yards (3.9 per attempt) and one touchdown on the ground before being sidelined. He's also caught 16 passes for 163 yards this season.

The 25-year-old will split carries with rookie Chuba Hubbard, who rushed for 82 yards and one score in last week's win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Darnold was listed as questionable Friday due to a concussion and shoulder injury suffered in Week 8.

Carolina only has Darnold and P.J. Walker as active quarterbacks in Week 9.

Darnold helped the Panthers snap a four-game losing streak against the Falcons in Week 8 but has struggled of late. The 24-year-old hasn't thrown for more than 210 yards in any of his last four games and has racked up only four touchdowns to seven interceptions since Week 4.

Walker, 26, has replaced Darnold in two brief appearances this season, completing 3 of 15 pass attempts for 33 yards.
