Tagovailoa replaces Brissett in TNF win over Ravens
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa helped the Miami Dolphins upset the Baltimore Ravens 22-10 on Thursday Night Football after replacing Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter.
Brissett suffered a right knee injury that briefly forced him out of the contest. He was cleared to return minutes later, but Miami kept Tagovailoa on the field, according to Albert Breer of TheMMQB.
Tagovailoa didn't start the game due to a fractured finger, serving as Brissett's backup for the second straight week.
Brissett left the contest with Miami leading 6-3. He completed 11 of 23 pass attempts for 156 yards before sustaining the injury.
Tagovailoa finished the evening with 158 yards on 8-for-13 passing. The second-year signal-caller also scored a rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
The Dolphins' defense had a strong outing versus the Ravens, sacking quarterback Lamar Jackson four times. Miami also scored a defensive touchdown on cornerback Xavien Howard's 49-yard fumble return.
