Steelers rule out Watt, Haden for SNF vs. Chargers
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without T.J. Watt and Joe Haden for Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, per the team's injury report.
Watt won't play due to hip and knee injuries while Haden is dealing with a foot issue. Starting guard Kevin Dotson was also ruled out with an ankle issue.
Additionally, Ben Roethlisberger and Minkah Fitzpatrick remain on the COVID-19 list. Roethlisberger - who missed Week 10 - could be cleared if he records two negative tests prior to the prime-time game, but Fitzpatrick isn't expected to play after reportedly testing positive this week.
Watt has gotten off to another hot start in 2021, recording 12.5 sacks in eight games. He'll likely be replaced by Taco Charlton on the edge, while Alex Highsmith holds the spot opposite him.
The Steelers' defense is allowing 20.8 points per game this season, ranking eighth in the NFL. They've also accumulated 26 sacks, but Watt has been responsible for nearly half of those.
Meanwhile, Chase Claypool is set to return after missing Week 10 with a toe injury. The wideout was a full participant in practice Friday and did not receive an injury designation, according to DK Pittsburgh Sports' Christopher Carter.
Pittsburgh is second in the AFC North with a 5-3-1 record after tying the Lions last Sunday.
