Fields suffers rib injury in loss to Ravens
Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields injured his ribs in the third quarter of Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens and was unable to finish the game.
Andy Dalton relieved the rookie and threw a 60-yard touchdown to Darnell Mooney on his second snap, giving Chicago a 7-6 lead. Dalton finished the afternoon with 201 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-23 passing.
The Bears waited until early in the fourth quarter to rule Fields out for the remainder of the contest. He went 4-for-11 for 79 yards with a 62.3 passer rating before exiting.
Bears head coach Matt Nagy had no update postgame on the severity of Fields' injury, according to Mark Grote of 670 The Score.
The rookie passer, who'll undergo more tests Monday, is believed to have suffered bruised ribs, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
It's unclear who will be under center for the Bears in Week 12 against the Detroit Lions next Thursday, Nagy added.
Fields entered Week 11 with 1,282 yards, four touchdowns, and eight interceptions through the air across nine appearances.
Dalton started the first two games of the season before an injury gave way to Fields.
Chicago drafted Fields 11th overall after trading up in the first round.
