Report: Texans cutting Lindsay

The Houston Texans are cutting running back Phillip Lindsay, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Lindsay signed a one-year deal with the Texans in March after spending the first three seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos.

The 27-year-old was expected to compete with Mark Ingram and David Johnson for a starting role in Houston, but Lindsay has struggled this year, amassing just 130 yards (2.6 per carry) and one touchdown on the ground through 10 appearances. He only had one rushing attempt in Sunday's win against the Tennessee Titans.

Houston also traded Ingram to the New Orleans Saints in October, leaving Johnson and Rex Burkhead as the Texans' primary options at running back.

In 2018, Lindsay became the first-ever undrafted offensive rookie to earn a Pro Bowl berth. He topped 1,000 rushing yards in back-to-back campaigns and racked up 17 scrimmage touchdowns through his first two years with the Broncos.
