Washington's McLaurin, Heinicke injured in loss vs. Cowboys

The Washington Football Team finished Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys without two key starters on the field due to ailments.

The team ruled wide receiver Terry McLaurin out in the third quarter with a concussion and sidelined quarterback Taylor Heinicke in the fourth quarter due to a knee injury.

McLaurin failed to register a catch before exiting, with Washington down big to its division rivals.

The 26-year-old is the focal point of the NFC East club's passing attack, entering Week 14 with team highs in catches (61), receiving yards (801), and receiving touchdowns (five).

Running back J.D. McKissic, who was inactive against Dallas, is second with 43 catches for 397 yards.

If McLaurin misses time past this game, Adam Humphries and DeAndre Carter will likely take on expanded roles.

Heinicke threw for just 122 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 11-of-25 passing before being sidelined as Washington trailed 27-8. Kyle Allen entered the game under center, completing four of nine pass attempts for 53 yards.

The team expects the passer to undergo an MRI on his knee Monday but thinks he'll be able to start in Week 15, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
