Nick Foles will start the Chicago Bears' Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Matt Nagy announced Friday, according to Brad Biggs of The Chicago Tribune.

Justin Fields, who missed practice Thursday and Friday with an ankle injury, will be a game-time decision to dress as the backup, Nagy added. The team is already without veteran quarterback Andy Dalton due to a left hand/groin injury.

The Bears will have to promote quarterback Ryan Willis from the practice squad if Fields can't suit up, Biggs notes. Willis signed with the club late last week and has never taken an NFL snap.

Sunday's contest will mark Foles' first start of the 2021 campaign. He started seven games for Chicago last season, winning just two and throwing for 10 touchdowns to eight interceptions.

Fields is in the midst of a bumpy rookie season. He won the starting job from Dalton in Week 3 but has struggled with consistency. The No. 11 overall pick has completed under 60% of his passes for seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He's also been sacked 36 times.

The 4-10 Bears are looking for their first win since Week 12.
