The Minnesota Vikings have activated running back Dalvin Cook from the COVID-19 reserve list.
Cook, who didn't play in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, was initially expected to miss at least 10 days after testing positive Thursday. However, the NFL updated its protocols, reducing the isolation period for players from 10 to five days.
The 26-year-old, who earned his third career Pro Bowl nod this season, will return in Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
Cook has rushed for 1,067 yards (4.7 per carry) and 6 touchdowns through 11 appearances in 2021.
Minnesota is currently the first team outside the playoff picture in the NFC with a 7-8 record, one game behind the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
