Report: Watt expected to play wild-card game vs. Rams
J.J. Watt is back.
The Arizona Cardinals defensive end is expected to play Monday against the Los Angeles Rams, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Watt, 32, underwent what was thought to be season-ending surgery after tearing his labrum, bicep, and rotator cuff in addition to dislocating his shoulder in October. He's been sidelined since Week 7.
The Cardinals, who've yet to officially activate Watt, opened their 21-day window to remove the veteran defender from injured reserve last week.
Watt racked up 16 tackles, 10 quarterback hits, and one sack before being sidelined.
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year's return is a big boost to Arizona's front four, which will face a tough matchup against Los Angeles' offensive line. The Rams allowed only 31 sacks during the regular season, the NFL's sixth-lowest mark.
