Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was named the unanimous winner of the Defensive Rookie of the Year award on Thursday at the NFL Honors show.
Parsons is the first Cowboys player to win the award after leading all rookies with 13 sacks in 2021.
Taken with the No. 12 pick, Parsons took the NFL by storm with his versatility. He played on the defensive line as a pass-rusher in addition to his typical role as a linebacker.
The Penn State product was instrumental to a Cowboys defensive unit that allowed just 21.1 points per game, seventh best in the league. Parsons led the team in sacks, quarterback hits (30), and tackles for a loss (20).
In addition to the rookie honor, Parsons also earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections.
