Adrian Peterson arrested for domestic violence

Free-agent running back Adrian Peterson was arrested Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport on a charge of felony domestic violence, Los Angeles Airport Police confirmed to NFL Media.

Peterson and his wife, Ashley Brown, had a verbal and physical altercation on an aircraft before a flight to Houston, airport police said.

The 36-year-old Peterson was taken into custody while Brown stayed on the plane with the rest of the passengers.

He was released from custody later Sunday after posting a $50,000 bond.

A representative for Peterson and Brown provided a statement to TMZ: "Earlier today, Adrian and his wife Ashley had a verbal argument on a flight, and he was removed from the plane. This is a private misunderstanding between husband and wife, and we anticipate it will all be resolved shortly."

Peterson had brief stints with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks in the 2021 season.
