Report: Bucs add Gage to receiving corps with 3-year, $30M deal
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and former Atlanta Falcons wideout Russell Gage agreed to a three-year, $30-million deal with $20 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Gage should slot in as the Bucs' No. 3 receiver behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, though the latter is recovering from an ACL injury.
A sixth-round pick in 2018, Gage provided a consistent presence to the Falcons' aerial attack over his four-year tenure with the club. His 770 receiving yards last season trailed only Kyle Pitts for the team lead. He also finished second on the team in 2020 with 786 receiving yards.
The 26-year-old shined following Calvin Ridley's midseason exit last season. Gage recorded 500 receiving yards over the final six weeks of the campaign, the seventh most in the NFL.
The Buccaneers have been working to retool their offense since Tom Brady announced Sunday he's coming out of retirement and will rejoin the team. They've since re-signed center Ryan Jensen and cornerback Carlton Davis.
Wideout Breshad Perriman is also returning to the Buccaneers on a one-year pact, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday. Perriman caught 11 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown last season.
