Hill relishes Dolphins deal: 'My agent wanted me to kiss him in the mouth'
Tyreek Hill arrived in Miami a happy camper Thursday after inking a four-year, $120-million extension with the Dolphins to become the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
"There's only one time I ever cried in my life and that was when my daughter was born," the star wide receiver told reporters at his introductory press conference. "I almost teared up, just having that moment. My agent wanted me to kiss him in the mouth - I said no."
The Dolphins acquired Hill in a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs after he reached an impasse in contract talks with his former club. Miami immediately signed him to a more lucrative deal than the one Davante Adams inked with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Hill was the centerpiece of the Chiefs' prolific offense and ultimately helped them win a Super Bowl.
"It's tough, but if somebody come to you with a lot of money, it changes - the feelings start to change a little bit," he said.
The New York Jets were reportedly also in the mix for his services. The Chiefs allowed Hill to pick his next team, but the speedy receiver was apparently never on board with New York.
"WHO!? The Jets!?"

Hill will join a Dolphins squad suddenly loaded with offensive weapons: Jaylen Waddle is coming off a 1,000-yard rookie campaign, Cedrick Wilson signed as a free agent, and Mike Gesicki signed his franchise tag. The Dolphins also added running backs Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds.
First-year head coach Mike McDaniel will be charged with stirring the drink, and the former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator already has a fan in Hill.
"He's probably the funniest head coach I've ever met in my life," said Hill, who played for Andy Reid in Kansas City. "He's a dope guy, a fun guy to be around - I can tell that already - and his energy is contagious. I'm excited. The way he was telling me he's gonna get me the ball, that's always exciting for a receiver.
"My biggest thing is his whole message off the field: 'Tyreek, just be you.' He kind of sounded like Shrek a bit."
Hill had 111 receptions for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns in his final campaign with the Chiefs. He led Kansas City in receiving in three of the last five seasons.
