Buffalo Bills
Grade: A-
More great work from Buffalo on draft weekend. The Bills had a glaring need at corner heading in and Elam will be a great fit as a No. 2 boundary player opposite Tre'Davious White. Running back was also thought to be a focus, particularly one who could contribute in the passing game, and Cook is a phenomenal fit. The Georgia product - and younger brother of Vikings star Dalvin Cook - can slide into the role the Bills envisioned for free-agent target J.D. McKissic. And to top it all off, they added a sleeper wideout in the fifth round and the "Punt God" in the sixth. Circle the wagons.
Miami Dolphins
Grade: C-
The volume isn't there, but that's because the Dolphins traded a haul of picks for Tyreek Hill, and let's go ahead and assume they're beyond happy with that move. Tindall is the most notable player selected and he'll have a chance to start right away.
New England Patriots
Grade: D+
Marcus Jones could be a star on defense, special teams, and offense, too, should the Patriots choose to use his athleticism that way - he's truly one of the draft's more fascinating prospects. Beyond him, this is a difficult group to understand. It all started on Day 1: New England reached on Strange, an interior offensive lineman who many expected to be taken late on Day 2. Thornton is a burner, but he was taken ahead of a few receivers widely considered to be better bets. Add this one to the list of recent underwhelming draft classes from the Patriots.
New York Jets
Grade: A+
Here come the Jets, y'all. Joe Douglas put his pair of top-10 picks to great use: he landed a potential No. 1 corner and then added the top wideout he'd been trying to find all offseason. Trading back into the end of the first round for a sliding pass-rusher was exactly the kind of aggressiveness we wanted to see from a team that must begin improving, and Hall gives New York an extremely talented feature back. If you're a Jets fan, you couldn't have been hoping for much more.
