Kyler Murray is back in the building.

The Arizona Cardinals star quarterback is with the team and expected to be on the practice field Wednesday as the club resumes voluntary OTAs, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

His appearance marks the first time he has taken the field during the team's offseason program, Schefter adds.

The quarterback's desire to receive a new contract has been the team's biggest storyline of the offseason. Murray is eligible for an extension since he's completed three seasons in the NFL. The Cardinals have him under contract for 2022 and 2023 after exercising his fifth-year option this year.

Murray's agent previously said he submitted an offer to the organization but reportedly withdrew it in April.

Arizona has remained committed to the former first overall pick throughout the process. General manager Steve Keim previously ruled out the prospect of trading Murray and said last week he believes an extension will be completed "this summer."

The 24-year-old has compiled a 22-23-1 record with 70 touchdowns to 34 interceptions across three seasons. He set a career high in yards per game (270.5) and passer rating (100.6) last year en route to his first playoff berth.
