Experience won out in the latest edition of The Match, as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers edged Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in NFL celebrity golf action at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Rodgers ended it on the 12th and final hole, stuffing his tee shot to within 15 feet and then draining the tough birdie putt to avoid a playoff and secure the victory.

There was bound to be some sloppy play with no pro golfers in the field for this year's event. But the "shamble" format, which allows each team to play from the better of their two tee shots, gave the duos some room for error. And in the end, the result was a competitive matchup that came down to the wire.

Brady and Rodgers raced out to an early lead by taking each of the first two holes. Mahomes and Allen quickly settled in after that, making birdie on two of the next three holes to even things up. From there, it was a tight contest that seemed destined for a "closest to the hole" playoff.

However, Rodgers had other plans, and his pair of clutch shots on No. 12, fittingly, put him on the winning side for the second time in as many appearances at The Match. After losing to Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning and then falling to Bryson DeChambeau and Rodgers, Brady finally gets his first victory at the celebrity event.
