Report: Garrett to replace Brees as NBC's NFL analyst
Former Dallas Cowboys head coach and New York Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is joining NBC as an NFL analyst on "Football Night in America," the New York Post's Andrew Marchand reports.
Garrett will replace Drew Brees, who recently parted ways with the network after just one year. Brees was part of the "Football Night in America" crew in 2021 and was an analyst during Notre Dame football games, a role Garrett could also take over, Marchand adds.
NBC hired Garrett earlier this year as a USFL analyst and teamed him up with play-by-play announcer Jac Collinsworth.
Garrett coached the Cowboys in 152 regular-season games from 2010-19. He was named Coach of the Year in 2016 after helping Dallas post a 13-3 record, which remains the club's best campaign since 2007. The 56-year-old began last year with the Giants but was fired midway through the campaign,
