After another disappointing loss in which the Denver Broncos' offense didn't live up to its billing, head coach Nathaniel Hackett plans to make changes.

Hackett said Friday he'll "without a doubt" consider simplifying his offensive unit, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.

The first-year coach added, "We want to make it so the guys are playing. The thing we say here is: 'Hear the call. Know the call. Do your job.' We want to be sure that they're doing that at a high level, and right now it's not."

Denver didn't score a touchdown in Thursday's 12-9 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos entered the game in the bottom five of the NFL in scoring, having averaged just 16.5 points per game through the first four weeks.

The defeat dropped the Broncos to 2-3. Denver came into the season with high expectations after acquiring multiple high-profile players, including star quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson signed a five-year, $245-million deal with Denver after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks. He struggled against the Colts, completing 53.8% of his passes for 274 yards and no touchdowns against two interceptions.

The nine-time Pro Bowler has passed for 1,254 yards and four touchdowns to three interceptions this season.

Hackett also wants to make things easier for Wilson.

"Want to take a hard look at everything that he's done successfully and make sure we're accommodating him as much as possible so that he feels comfortable," Hackett said when asked about putting the quarterback under center more often.

"But at the same time, we want to do things our players do."

Wilson and the Broncos visit the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
