Report: Hurts uncertain for Week 17 game vs. Saints on Jan. 1
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is uncertain to play in the Week 17 meeting against the New Orleans Saints due to his shoulder sprain injury, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Hurts, who was already ruled out for Saturday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, is dealing with a SC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, Schefter reports.
How the NFC playoff picture comes together and Hurts' response to treatment will aid the Eagles in determining whether the signal-caller returns against the Saints, Schefter adds.
Hurts will try to play through the injury if the Eagles fall to the Cowboys on Saturday, Schefter notes. Philadelphia is one win away from securing home-field advantage through the playoffs.
A former second-round pick, Hurts is having an MVP caliber season. He's set career highs in completion percentage (67.3%), passing yards (3,472), passing touchdowns (22), and passer rating (104.6). He's also added 13 rushing scores.
Gardner Minshew is set to start in his place against the Cowboys.
