The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to release cornerback Shaquill Griffin, sources told Jordan Schultz, theScore's NFL insider.

Griffin was set to have the team's second-highest 2023 cap hit at $17.1 million, according to OverTheCap. Releasing the corner nets the Jags an extra $13.1 million in cap space.

Tyson Campbell and Darious Williams are expected to be the club's top two corners, pending potential moves made in free agency and the draft.

Griffin played in just five games during the 2022 campaign due to a back injury. He allowed 21 completions for 252 yards and two touchdowns, according to Pro Football Reference.

The 27-year-old totaled six interceptions, 59 deflections, and 327 tackles in 76 career games.

Griffin's lone Pro Bowl selection came in 2019 as a member of the Seattle Seahawks when he had 13 deflections and 65 tackles.
