Tyreek: I'll 'dominate' no matter how Patriots cover me on SNF

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill doesn't think the New England Patriots will be able to come up with a defensive game plan to stop him on Sunday Night Football.

"I'm still going to dominate that no matter what," Hill said when asked about the possibility of facing double coverage often in Week 2, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. "I still got a job to do, and that's to run my routes. You put two guys on me, one guy on me, or three guys on me, I'm still going to run my route to get open."

The Patriots, led by one of the most respected defensive minds in NFL history in head coach Bill Belichick, limited Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to 170 passing yards and an 89.2 passer rating in Week 1. Hurts finished the game with 5.2 yards per pass attempt.

Hill is coming off one of the best games of his career after mostly facing single coverage in Miami's 36-34 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1. The All-Pro pass-catcher ran 21 single-coverage routes versus L.A., racking up six catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns, according to PFF. He finished the game with 11 receptions and 215 yards.

The 29-year-old, who joined Miami in the 2022 offseason as part of a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs, recently said one of his career goals is to top 2,000 receiving yards in a campaign. However, Hill said he doesn't keep track of his yardage total during the season.

"I just let my oldest son do that," Hill said. "He was like, 'Hey Dad, we're at 215.' He does the math for me, so we're on the way."

Hill amassed 149 receiving yards in two games against the Patriots last season. He didn't have any TD receptions but scored a touchdown on the ground.
