Chargers' Ekeler out, Bosa questionable for Week 2 vs. Titans
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans due to an ankle injury, the team announced Saturday.
Ekeler, who racked up 164 scrimmage yards and scored a touchdown in L.A.'s Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins, didn't practice this week. He was originally listed as doubtful.
The 28-year-old led the NFL in total touchdowns in the last two seasons, recording 38 TDs in 2021 and 2022. With Ekeler likely sidelined, Joshua Kelley is expected to carry the load at running back for the Chargers. Kelley rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown while picking up eight first downs on 16 carries in Week 1.
The Chargers also may not have one of their defensive cornerstones versus the Titans, as Joey Bosa is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
Bosa was a limited participant at Friday's practice after missing Wednesday's and Thursday's sessions. Injuries limited the four-time Pro Bowler to five appearances and 2.5 sacks in 2022. He racked up only one tackle in the opener against the Dolphins.
