Adams blasts Bills' Rapp after late hit: He has no 'true purpose'

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams took a shot at Buffalo Bills safety Taylor Rapp for his helmet-to-helmet hit during their Week 2 matchup.

"Was it unnecessary? Completely, obviously," Adams said Wednesday, according to Logan Reever of 8 News Now. "But certain players play a certain way, too. Some people, out of control, they fly around, they don't really have much true purpose out there. I mean, playing a half field on one side, you run over and hit somebody in the head on the other side of the field."

Adams wasn't able to finish the Raiders' 38-10 loss to the Bills on Sunday after taking the late hit. He left the game to be evaluated but didn't enter the concussion protocol. Rapp was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

"That's the kind of stuff that contributes to you not being on the field," Adams added. "That's why you're in when you're blowing us out by 25 at the end of the game. Maybe if that man learns how to play the game the right way, he'll see the field. Until then, he'll have to go and live off of plays like that, I guess."

Adams, a three-time first-team All-Pro, caught six passes for 84 yards and one touchdown against the Bills.

Meanwhile, Rapp finished the contest with one tackle and a fumble recovery while playing 15% of Buffalo's defensive snaps.
