Tomlin: Steelers won't make coaching changes on offense 'at this juncture'

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that there are no changes coming to the offensive coaching staff or play-calling responsibilities "at this juncture" despite the unit's struggles, according to Bob Pompeani of KDKA.

Tomlin proclaimed Sunday that he was ready "to make some changes" following what he described as an "ugly" 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans.

However, he clarified Tuesday that he was talking about "physicality" and "practice attire" when asked about the changes he planned on making, per Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan. Tomlin hinted that the Steelers may practice in pads more this week.

"Houston was more physical and played harder than us," he told reporters, including Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "That has to change immediately. We have to look at what we're doing in an effort to make sure that doesn't reoccur."

Pittsburgh's offense, run by offensive coordinator Matt Canada, has come under intense scrutiny this season. The Steelers have been held to seven points or fewer twice this season and have scored just four offensive touchdowns through four games.

The 2-2 Steelers are preparing for a divisional matchup against the 3-1 Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. Quarterback Kenny Pickett's status is unknown for the contest after suffering a bone bruise in his knee during the loss to the Texans.
