Dolphins' Achane being evaluated for knee injury
Miami Dolphins rookie running back De'Von Achane is being evaluated for a knee injury suffered in Sunday's victory over the New York Giants, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Monday, according to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques.
McDaniel said Achane's status for Week 6 is "to be determined," according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. He added that it's "trivial" to predict a timeline for Achane considering he's still under evaluation.
The 21-year-old star burst onto the scene in the last month. Since making his debut in Week 2, Achane has rushed for 460 yards and pitched in seven total touchdowns. He's built a reputation as one of the NFL's fastest players as evidenced by his league-leading 12.1 yards per carry.
Achane finished Sunday's game with 151 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
