Panthers' Sanders ruled out vs. Dolphins
Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders won't play against the Miami Dolphins due to a shoulder injury, the team announced Friday.
Sanders leads the team with 190 rushing yards and a touchdown on 61 carries. He's also hauled in 15 receptions for 81 yards.
Carolina signed the tailback to a four-year, $25.4-million contract in the offseason after he posted a career-best 2022 campaign as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Chuba Hubbard is expected to handle the bulk of running back snaps with Sanders sidelined. The third-year runner has 211 total yards through five games but hasn't scored a touchdown this season.
Safety Vonn Bell, guard Austin Corbett, safety Xavier Woods, and guard Chandler Zavala were also ruled out Friday.
Bell played 100% of the team's defensive snaps in every game to start the year. He was added to the injury report with a quadriceps issue on Thursday before failing to practice Friday.
Corbett has yet to make his season debut after tearing his ACL in the final week of the 2022 campaign.
