The New York Giants aren't expected to move running back Saquon Barkley ahead of the NFL's Oct. 31 trade deadline, sources told The Athletic's Dianna Russini.

Barkley said earlier this week that he didn't want to be traded.

New York placed the franchise tag on Barkley on the offseason. The two sides failed to come to a long-term agreement before the deadline to do so, but they did agree on a one-year pact with incentives.

The Giants can tag Barkley again this offseason at a higher price and renegotiate a long-term extension.

An ankle injury sidelined the playmaker in Weeks 3-5 this season. The two-time Pro Bowl runner has played in three contests, totaling 207 rushing yards, 46 receiving yards, and a pair of touchdowns.
