Tensions are rising between New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Don Martindale, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.

The pair could agree to mutually part ways before the end of the season, Glazer adds.

Daboll, 48, joined the Giants last year after spending 2018-21 as the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator. He led the team to a 9-7-1 record and won Coach of the Year in his first campaign with the club.

Martindale, 60, arrived in New York alongside Daboll after he coached with the Baltimore Ravens from 2012-21.

The team has struggled to replicate last season's success in 2023, stumbling to a 3-8 record and a minus-136 point differential. The team ranks in the bottom five of offensive and defensive yards, as well as in offensive and defensive points per game.

It's unclear who'd take over the defense if Daboll and Martindale part ways during the season.
