Report: Patriots' Stevenson to miss time with high ankle sprain
New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is expected to miss a "few weeks" after suffering a high ankle sprain, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Stevenson suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers after appearing to have his ankle rolled up on. X-rays on the ailment came back negative postgame.
The injury knocks the 25-year-old out of Thursday night's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots will then have 10 days before their following game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15.
Stevenson has struggled to match his production from his first two seasons this year. His 4.0 yards per carry would mark a career low. He's totaled 619 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.
New England has the AFC's worst record at 2-10. Bill Belichick's team has averaged a league-low 12.3 points per game as the franchise has made several quarterback changes due to poor play.
