Tyreek Hill questionable for Week 15 vs. Jets due to ankle injury
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill will be questionable for Sunday's game against the New York Jets, head coach Mike McDaniel announced Friday, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Hill hasn't practiced this week due to an ankle injury.
"When we talk, if he's confident he can go be himself and (we have the) support of trainers that are responsible to the risk, then he will play," McDaniel said of Hill's status on Friday.
Hill was considered day-to-day this week after injuring his ankle during Monday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. The All-Pro pass-catcher wasn't ruled out of the game but later said the ailment limited his mobility.
"We're going to make sure that when he's on the field, he's not at risk of further injury to himself," McDaniel said Thursday, according to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper.
Missing Week 15 would be a big blow to Hill's quest to become the first player ever to top 2,000 receiving yards in a season. The 29-year-old leads the NFL with 1,542 yards and 12 touchdown catches in 13 games. Hill's on pace to finish the campaign with 2,016 receiving yards.
The seven-time Pro Bowler played all 17 games during his first season with Miami in 2022.
Injuries are also an issue for the Dolphins' offensive line ahead of the Jets matchup. Miami recently ruled out starting center Connor Williams for the remainder of the season after he tore his ACL. Guard Robert Hunt won't face New York due to a hamstring injury, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post.
