Montez Sweat made history in his own way in 2023.
The pass-rusher, who was traded to the Chicago Bears from the Washington Commanders in October, became the first player in NFL history to lead two teams in sacks during the same season, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Sweat's 6.5 sacks with the Commanders stood as a team high even though he last suited up for them in Week 8. Meanwhile, his six sacks since joining Chicago were the most of any Bears player.
A first-round pick in 2019, Sweat's 12.5 sack count this season is also a personal best. His 2023 performance earned him the first Pro Bowl invite of his career.
The Bears signed Sweat to a four-year extension reportedly worth $98M after acquiring him.
