Rams' Higbee tore ACL, MCL vs. Lions
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announced tight end Tyler Higbee suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the club's 24-23 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, according to Adam Grosbard of the Orange County Register.
Higbee exited after taking a hard hit to the legs from Lions safety Kerby Joseph late in the fourth quarter. The 31-year-old finished the playoff contest with one target and no receptions.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pounder will likely miss the majority of the 2024 campaign rehabbing the injury.
Higbee posted 495 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 47 receptions this season as L.A.'s top tight end. His yardage and reception marks ranked third on the team behind wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp.
The Western Kentucky product signed a two-year, $27-million extension with the Rams in September. He's under contract through the 2025 season.
