Report: Falcons set up 2nd interview with Jim Harbaugh
The Atlanta Falcons are scheduling a second interview with Michigan's Jim Harbaugh regarding their vacant head coach role, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Atlanta announced that they met with Harbaugh for the first time on Jan. 16. The following interview will be planned for next week, per Pelissero.
Harbaugh isn't the only coach the Falcons will talk to twice: Former New England Patriots bench boss Bill Belichick conducted a second meeting with the club on Friday.
Earlier in January, Harbaugh's Wolverines beat Washington in the College Football Playoff National Championship to complete an undefeated 2023 campaign.
The 60-year-old coach has accumulated an 89-25 record with Michigan since joining the program in 2015 and, including his time at Stanford (2007-2010), owns a 118-46 collegiate record.
Harbaugh last coached in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers during the 2014 campaign. He spent four seasons with the team and collected a 44-19-1 record. He also coached the Niners in Super Bowl XLVII against his brother John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens.
