Report: Texans' Slowik set for 2nd interview with Commanders, Falcons
Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is slated for second interviews with the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons for their head coaching vacancies, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Slowik, who is a hot candidate this coaching cycle, interviewed virtually with the Commanders, Falcons, and Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
His second meeting with Washington is set for Tuesday and will be in-person, Rapoport adds. His next interview with Atlanta is scheduled for an unknown date later this week.
He's not the only coach who's lined up for a second interview by the two teams. The Commanders and Falcons are both expected to head to Detroit next week to talk to Lions coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Slowik was not permitted to conduct in-person interviews until the divisional round of the playoffs finished.
The Texans coordinator garnered praise for turning rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and Co. into a dynamic offense in 2023. Houston ranked 13th in scoring, 12th in yards, and marched to the divisional round after putting 45 points on the Cleveland Browns in the wild-card round.
