Bengals QB coach Pitcher replacing Callahan as OC
Cincinnati Bengals quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher is replacing Brian Callahan as the club's offensive coordinator, the team announced Thursday.
"I'm excited for Dan and his opportunity to increase his role on our staff," said head coach Zac Taylor. "He has excelled in his job of helping develop our quarterbacks over the past five years.
"He has been a top contributor to our scheme and that role will now increase. I look forward to seeing him continue to grow in this new position."
Burrow has thrown for 14,083 yards, 97 touchdowns, and 37 interceptions with a 98.6 passer rating in 52 games under Pitcher's tutelage.
Browning totaled 1,936 yards with 12 touchdowns against seven interceptions in nine games during the 2023 campaign after Burrow sustained a season-ending injury in Week 11. The Washington product's 70.4% completion rate led all signal-callers with at least 238 pass attempts, according to Pro Football Reference.
Pitcher has spent his entire NFL coaching career with the Bengals. He started as an offensive assistant in 2016 before being named assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019 and quarterbacks coach in 2020.
Callahan was announced as head coach of the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.
