Poyer joining Dolphins on 1-year deal
Former Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer is signing a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins, his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Bills cut Poyer prior to free agency. He spent the last seven seasons with the team.
A former Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro, Poyer failed to record an interception in 2023 for the first time since the 2016 campaign, when he was a member of the Cleveland Browns.
Poyer grabbed at least two interceptions every year from 2017–22. He's notched five interceptions twice, with the latest coming in 2021.
The 32-year-old was part of a formidable Bills secondary that also featured the likes of Micah Hyde and Tre'Davious White. Hyde is a free agent, while White was also released.
Poyer will be expected to form a new safety tandem in Miami alongside Jevon Holland.
