Report: Patriots signing ex-Viking Osborn
The New England Patriots are signing former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.
The deal is for one year and worth $4 million, a source told Albert Breer of MMQB.
Osborn has posted at least 540 yards and three touchdowns in each of the last three campaigns. His best season came in 2021 when he hauled in 50 receptions for 655 yards and seven scores.
The 26-year-old joins a wide receiver room that was led by Demario Douglas in 2023. Douglas, a sixth-round pick in last year's draft, had 561 yards on 49 receptions but failed to find the end zone.
Kendrick Bourne, whom New England signed to a three-year, $33-million extension earlier in March, was on pace to be the team's top wideout. He had 37 catches for 406 yards and four touchdowns in eight games.
Osborn will likely compete with Douglas and Bourne for starter snaps.
Osborn is the latest weapon to join the Patriots after they added running back Antonio Gibson and tight end Austin Hooper during the opening days of free agency. New England also re-signed tight end Hunter Henry.
