Wilson 'excited' by trade talk surrounding Jets, Davante Adams
Jets receiver Garrett Wilson likes the idea of New York potentially acquiring Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams.
"I'm excited. I'm with all of it," Wilson said of the Adams chatter, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. "Anyone we can get into the facility to help this team win games, I'm with it, and he's one of those."
Rumors about Adams possibly joining the Jets originally began during the 2023 offseason when New York traded for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who formed an elite duo with Adams on the Packers from 2014-21. Green Bay dealt the star pass-catcher to Las Vegas one year before the Rodgers move.
Rodgers and New York have tried to recruit Adams this offseason, but Las Vegas reportedly wasn't interested in a deal. The Raiders star recently confirmed Rodgers has been in his ear lately.
The four-time NFL MVP added fuel to the fire this week.
"I love Davante. I can't wait to play with him again," Rodgers said at a golf tournament in Nevada on Thursday.
Jets running back Breece Hall would also welcome an Adams trade.
"With him, and then with Garrett and Mike Williams, just pick your poison," Hall said on "Up & Adams" on Friday.
Rodgers played just four snaps for the Jets before sustaining an Achilles injury during his debut last year. New York signed Williams this offseason while trying to upgrade the supporting cast around its superstar quarterback.
The Jets haven't won a playoff game since the 2010 season.
