Report: Bears sign Caleb Williams to 4-year, $39M rookie deal
The Chicago Bears are signing No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams to a four-year, fully guaranteed deal worth $39 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Williams' rookie contract reportedly includes a $25.5-million signing bonus.
The 22-year-old was the consensus top selection in the 2024 NFL Draft following a standout career at USC. Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, accounted for 93 touchdowns across two seasons with the Trojans.
Williams stands out due to his arm and his ability to make off-script plays. He joined a Bears team that hasn't won a playoff game since the 2010 season. Chicago is also the only team in NFL history that's never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a single campaign.
In addition to Williams, the Bears used a top-10 pick on wide receiver Rome Odunze, who also signed his rookie contract Tuesday.
