Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson is considered week-to-week after being carted off the practice field Tuesday due to an ankle injury, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Wilson is dealing with an ankle sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who adds that it's believed the 23-year-old will be ready for Week 1.

The injury was apparently sustained on a jet sweep, and Wilson exited practice on a cart.

The Steelers drafted Wilson in the third round in April after he enjoyed a standout career at Michigan. His absence at camp could create a depth problem for the team's wide receiver room.

Headlined by 1,000-yard receiver George Pickens, Pittsburgh's WR depth chart currently lacks extra star power. Van Jefferson is projected to start opposite Pickens in 2024. The Steelers also roster Calvin Austin, Scotty Miller, and Quez Watkins, among others.

Pittsburgh has been linked to multiple veterans since trading away wideout Diontae Johnson but has yet to make a big move for a pass-catcher. Pickens recently said the club's current receivers are "good enough."
