Titans' Simmons apologizes for spat with radio host
Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons apologized Wednesday to local radio host Buck Reising for a confrontation earlier this week.
"That's not who I am or who I want to be seen as," Simmons said, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport. "At the end of the day, I take full accountability of my actions on the field, and I promise that won't ever happen again."
Simmons approached Reising during Tuesday's training camp session to confront him about critical social media posts the host had made about the defensive tackle. Simmons told Reising, "Stop talking on social media and talk to me."
Reising wrote in a social media post that Simmons needed to lock in and was sloppy after being involved in two on-field altercations during practice.
"He has an understanding of where I'm coming from, and I have an understanding where he comes from," Simmons added. "He has a job, and I have a job."
A two-time Pro Bowler, Simmons recorded 5.5 sacks over 12 games last season.
